About Me
Born in South Africa, I lived in Europe and North America before moving to Australia in 1998. I have a PhD in linguistics. Before turning to writing full-time, I was a counselor, college professor, and grant writer. My poetry has appeared in the Set Free Anthology, Yellow Moon, Phoebe, RiversEdge, Vanguard in the Belly of the Beast, and Clearfield Review. My writing mirrors an international experience, reflecting how place affects family relationships and personal choices. I'm currently working on a literary novel titled The Resurrection of Lydia Gray, and a series of children's books for middle grade readers. I love to sing in the rain, cook for friends and family, and hug trees. My husband Yusuf is a college professor in computer games.
